C Series
First and always most important is the lock and the AMSEC C series Floor Safe has a very unique lock that is not used on any other safe. It’s a UL approved high security mechanical lock that operates without a turn handle. When you get to the last number on your combination, you push the dial in and rotate it to contract the locking bolts.
The dial itself is fully removable so after you are done using it, it can be stored in a place separate from the safe. The spindle is both drive and drill resistant and the entire mechanism is manipulation resistant. This is the most expensive and highest quality lock used on any floor safe in production.

This safe is C-Rated and the total door thickness measures 1-3/4″. Also included are three locking bolts that extend out the side. Each of them requires over 25,000 lbs to shear. The American Security B5800 Floor Safe is equipped with a massive 3/4″ thick solid steel door. Considering 5 out of 6 sides of a floor safe are encased in concrete, the door is the only access point and with this thick of steel, it will take a considerable amount of time to break in. American Security then adds three 1″ solid steel locking bolts. Finally, the body is 3/16″ thick which isn’t necessary being installed in concrete but more steel never hurt anybody.

If properly installed in concrete, floor safes are not affected by fire as heat rises. If you have perishable items, it is still advised to purchase a fire rated home or gun safe. However, for burglary protection only, floor safes are the most secure option.
