American Security AMSEC BFX & BFII Gun Safes
The American Security AMSEC BFX and BFII gun safes are the absolute best in class, hands down. This is because of the proprietary concrete composite mixture that provides incredible burglary and fire protection. Comparatively, every other gun safe manufacturer including Fort Knox, Liberty and Rhino only use one layer of steel and multiple layers of gypsum fire board. They put all of their effort and focus into making a super high quality door but ignore the sides.
Thieves now use grinding wheels and saws to cut open the sides of the safes, completely skipping the door. So while you may think you purchased a secure safe, you really bought a secure door. American Security combines two layers of steel with the concrete composite mixture in the middle. This effectively destroys grinding wheels, drills, crowbars, pick-axes and other tools used. This is the main reason the BFII series is the only UL Approved RSC Level II gun safe in the industry and my top recommendation.
American Security AMSEC NF, SF & TF Gun Safes
While all three of the American Security AMSEC NF, SF & TF gun safe series are good quality products, they are not the best in class. American Security does not make these gun safes. They buy them from a Chinese factory and put their name on it. Don’t get me wrong, they are still good quality products with adequate burglary and fire protection but overpriced for a Chinese imported safe with just a name.
The main factor I do like about them is that they are the only gun safes to have their fire ratings verified by ETL. ETL is an independent laboratory that test gun safes in a furnace that simulates a real world fire. American Security is now the only manufacturer to test their safes with an independent laboratory. In addition, they have also proven the false claims of their competitors by testing their safes too.
