Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe Review

Remington is one of the oldest and most well known gun manufacturers in the United States and starting in 2022 they partnered up with SA Consumer Products to make Gun Safes. SA Consumer Products is also known for making the Sports Afield and Sanctuary safe lines and while I’ve never been a huge fan of the lock used on Sports Afield products, they made the Remington safe line incredibly well. They took all the positive features of the Sports Afield safes like no sag shelves, 7 days of water resistance and the full coverage lifetime warranty and combined it with a high quality UL rated SecuRam lock. I highly recommend the Remington gun safe line and in this review I will help you understand all of the features that make the Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe one of the best entry level gun safes.

Lock – Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe

First and always most important for any gun safe is the lock used and the Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe includes the SecuRam Top Lit high security electronic lock. This lock is tested and approved by UL and is one of the highest quality lock brands on the market. The only other two I recommend are NL and S&G. This SecuRam lock is the exclusive partner of Liberty Safe and trusted by all of the major safe brands. Two fail safe override keys are also included for emergency use. The batteries are replaceable from the keypad outside the safe and it uses one 9 Volt Battery. This is a very good quality lock and covered by the Remington Lifetime Warranty.

Security – Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe

The Remington Gun Club 26 gun safe has been tested and approved as a California DOJ Approved firearm safety device. It is built with a 14 gauge steel door and body with nine 4-way 1.25″ thick solid steel locking bolts. Additional security features include a drill-resistant hard plate protecting the lock and an internal re-locker that fires to keep the bolts locked in place during a drill attack.

Fire and Water Rated – Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe

Fire Rating

The Remington Gun Club 26 Gun Safe is both fire and water rated which is not common on gun safes, especially entry level gun safes at this price point. The fire rating is for 40 minutes at 1500 degrees which is 300 degrees hotter than the standard 1200 degree rating and 10 minutes longer than competing entry level gun safes. It also includes an intumescent door seal. This seal expands to multiple times its size during a fire to keep smoke and heat out of the safe.

Water Rating

The water seal is rated for 7 days in up to 2 feet of standing water. This safe measures over 5′ tall so that does not include the lock which sits at about 4′. Floods don’t typically get that high so it is a great option. Remington is now the only brand that offers a quality waterproof gun safe. The lifetime warranty also covers fire and natural flood.

Style and Function

The Remington Gun Club Gun Safe line is styled incredibly well. It’s finished in a Black Gloss Hammertone finish which is both durable and sleek. It features a black chrome 3-Spoke handle and high quality Remington logo. The interior is fully carpeted with the shelving edged with black plastic. The door panel organizer is of premium quality finished in vinyl. The shelves have zero sag and they even included UL rated dual power outlet with USB ports in the top of the safe. They thought about every last detail and made a superior quality product built to last.

The Bottom Line

These brand new Remington Gun Safes are going to be a huge seller in the safe industry. When you combine the UL rated high security SecuRam lock with 7 days of Waterproofing, a high temperature 40 minute fire rating, 14 gauge construction, high quality interior and a comprehensive lifetime warranty, this safe is going to be the best entry level gun safe of 2024. I can’t stress just how important the comprehensive lifetime warranty is. It covers the entire safe against theft, fire, natural flood, locks, parts, and paint with free shipping.
