Stealth Safes has been manufacturing high quality safes for nearly a decade now. They are based out of Los Angeles, California and like many manufacturers import globally and produce in the USA. They are by far the most customer centric company listening to the actual needs and producing safes that perfectly fit those needs at unbelievable prices. In these Stealth Floor Safe Reviews, I will explain why they are very high quality, loaded with security features and made right here in the USA.

Lock – Stealth Floor Safe Reviews

First and always most important for any floor safe is the lock. Stealth offers two different lock options on these Floor Safes depending on your preference.

UL Approved High Security Electronic Lock – NL UR-2020

First is the super reliable and high quality NL UR-2020 electronic lock. This lock is UL approved as type 1 which is the highest security rating possible. NL is one of the three major lock brands I recommend with SecuRam and S&G being the other two. I highly recommend this lock and it is very high quality. The parts are globally sourced with the electronic boards and lock body produced in Europe and the keypads coming from Korea.

UL Approved High Security Mechanical Lock – S&G

The second lock option is the classic S&G Type 2 UL Approved Mechanical Lock. S&G is the oldest and most reputable lock company in the United States. This three number combination lock is built to last forever and is known for its longevity and reliability.

Both of these lock options are excellent choices and it really comes down to your preference. However, floor safes have the potential for water damage after a fire. Therefore, I always recommend going with a mechanical lock on floor safes. Electronic Locks do offer a higher security rating but long term reliability in this application would better suit a mechanical lock.

Hard Plate and Re-Locker

Either lock option is also protected by both a hard plate and internal spring-loaded re-locker. The Hard plate is a piece of hardened steel that absolutely destroys drill bits. The internal re-locker fires if the lock is punched through securing the bolts in place. Both of these are essential security features and included on this safe.

Security – Stealth Floor Safe Reviews

The Stealth Floor Safe is equipped with a massive 1/2″ thick solid steel door. Considering 5 out of 6 sides of a floor safe are encased in concrete, the door is the only access point and with this thick of steel, it will take a considerable amount of time to break in.

Beneath the door are three 1″ solid steel locking bolts that contract from the chrome handle and a bolt detent fires them automatically once the door closes so you never have to remember if you locked the safe, it’s just automatic. The safe operates with an internal hinge and a heavy duty steel deadbar locks beneath that hinge. This is an extremely strong floor safe and very difficult to break into.

Style and Function

If properly installed in concrete, floor safes are not affected by fire as heat rises. If you have perishable items, it is still advised to purchase a fire rated home or gun safe. In regards to burglary protection only, floor safes are the most secure option. I also recommend placing your items in waterproof bags or ziplock compartments for additional water protection, especially cash.

Once everything is in the safe, you can cover it with a floorboard, rug or carpet to make it completely hidden and a steel plate dust cover is included to make it flush with the floor. The Stealth B Series Floor Safe also comes with a gas strut attached to the door that assists in opening it and keeping it open until you are ready to close it.

Warranty

All Stealth Floor Safes are covered by a 5 year warranty on the hinges and welds. In addition, they also provide a 2 year parts and labor warranty on the lock and all other components. Stealth will pay for a safe technician or locksmith to come out to your home or business and repair the safe. If the safe needs to be replaced, they pay for all shipping costs and do not require you to ship the safe back to their warehouse. All in all, they are by far the easiest and most customer centric company I’ve worked with. I highly recommend them for both service and warranty.

The Bottom Line

Would I buy a Stealth Floor Safe to protect my valuables? Yes, I absolutely would. With a UL Rated high security lock, 1/2″ thick solid steel door, advanced security features and Made in USA quality, these Stealth floor safes are my top recommendation for a square door floor safe.

The only safe that beats it from a security standpoint is the AMSEC C series which have a round and thicker door. However, this design severely limits the storage capacity. These Stealth floor safes have a square door and much higher storage capacity so in this style of floor safe, it is definitely my top pick.
